This painting is a reflection of my deep appreciation for my mother. She is someone who finds joy in the quiet, simple moments of life. I chose to capture her in front of her birthday cake, surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight, because that scene says so much about who she is. It’s a small celebration, but to her, it’s everything.

My mom has always shown me that happiness doesn’t come from having more, but from noticing what’s already here. Whether it’s a shared meal, a kind word, or a moment of peace, she treats life’s little offerings with gratitude and grace. That perspective has shaped who I am, and this painting is my way of saying thank you.

In this work, I wanted to honor not only her birthday, but the spirit with which she lives each day. It is a quiet portrait of a woman who has given so much, simply by being present, thoughtful, and full of love.
